DCA reveals executive board & council election results

This Autumn the DCA issued a call for candidates for its elections for a newly configured executive board and council leaders. As well as this being an exercise to refresh DCA member choice of its leadership with new candidates, all who had served in the most recent term were invited to stand for re-election.

Voting in these elections, which were staged in October, fell to authorised individuals at member companies and the results have, therefore, been entirely at the hands of the member companies who voted.

This most recent elections contest fielded the most votes of any previous election ever held by DCA or in its previous forms of Catalogue Exchange and CatEx DCA. It also saw a number of ties where candidates had won exactly the same number of votes as each other. Following a triple checked count, DCA President Nigel Swabey is pleased to announce who will lead the DCA through the next two year term of serving all member companies.

Those elected to the DCA Executive Board, in alphabetical order are:

Ian Glen, 288 Group (Westminster Collection); Martin Harvey, Bio-Guard; Katy Ingram, Feather & Black; Victoria Laws, Scotts & Co; Iain Lovatt*, Blue Sheep; Angie Simonds, Fur Feather & Fin; Chris Wheatley, Peter Hahn; Andrew Wilson, Allergybestbuys.com

*Iain Lovatt is the elected supplier side candidate representative; all others represent client side companies.

Those elected as Councillors are:

Tony Adams, TA Design - Catalogue Council; Al Keck, Infinity Nation & Jayne Reddyhoff, Zanzi Digital – Digital Council; Stuart Payne, Webmart & Tim Williams**, HOF Holdings – Multichannel Council

**Tim Williams who had achieved joint 8th place in the Executive Board election was invited to become and accepted the role of Councillor – Multichannel to strengthen its overall structure.

A meeting of all those elected will take place on 1st November between the DCA Autumn Conference & the DCA President’s Supper 5.15pm-6.00pm at the VSC, Marble Arch. During this meeting chaired by DCA President Nigel Swabey, those present will agree who will assume the role of Executive Board Leader, and other key tasks will begin to be scoped and assigned.
