Experience

Straight out of practice and the ripe old age of 25 I entered the wonderful world of multi-channel retailing at the catalogue hot bed of the 90s, Innovations, starting as an accounts assistant and leaving as a systems accountant being heavily involved in the mail order system reporting. From there I went to The Cotswold Company at it’s inception in 1997 setting up the finance function before moving to the supplier side with Prism Data Management from 2000 to 2007. Here I helped Mike Thom spending time heading the account management, operations and systems departments before also taking on the finance. I then spent 10 years with Long Tall Sally initially being Finance and IT Director also with responsibility for Operations. I oversaw the replacement of all core systems and achieved the single view of the customer, as well as being a key decision maker in four International acquisitions. As CFO in 2016, after a twelve month sale process, the business was sold to Equistone Europe as part of the Tristyle Group.

HOF Holdings

Having spent nearly 10 years at Long Tall Sally it was time to spend more time at home in West Devon with the wife and dogs, so this year summer I took the opportunity to look for challenges closer to home. I have set up HOF Holdings Ltd, my SME support company, and already have a couple of clients. Not wanting to make life too easy I’m also the joint leaseholder of a pub close to home as well as a local school governor, a trustee of a Cambridge based charity, and following the construction of a hot tub and bar will be building a shepherds hut in the garden ready for next springs tourists.
