Hayloft supports Breast Cancer campaign
Last year DCA member Hayloft partnered with ‘Against Breast Cancer’, raising £400 from adverts in two national publications. This year the pressure was on to raise further funds with more advertising, social media presence and office antics.
The first of our fundraising events was the ‘pretty in pink’ day. Staff members were encouraged to dress or accessorise with something pink whilst paying a £1 to do so.
During week two of fundraising, we conducted a raffle, where a plethora of prizes were on offer – mostly chocolate related!
Lastly, we were all delighted to partake and indulge in the Hayloft bake-off. Cake covered the tables and were bulging from the fridge. We could fill our bellies for days!
Our office activities have raised a magnificent total of £247.80 with figures from advertising still ongoing.
Alongside this, we have also been collecting unwanted bras, also in association with ‘Against Breast Cancer’. These are recycled and sent through a network of bra banks that raise vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research, with some being sent to developing countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya, where bras remain too expensive to produce locally.
If you or any friends or family members have any unloved bras that you wish to see the back of, please do send them to us using our freepost address: Hayloft Plants Ltd, FREEPOST RTGR-JAGJ-JETG, Pensham, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 3HB. We will conduct our final bra count at the end of December. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to keep updated on all other fundraising activities.
