Joe Browns sees double digit sales growth in the run up to Christmas

Multichannel retailer Joe Browns is seeing strong year on year sales growth in the pre-Christmas period, despite not joining in the Christmas discounts frenzy. Sales of knitwear are up 45per cent, almost doubling the same period last year. Simon Brown, MD and Founder of Joe Browns, puts it down to their “unique, individual designs and attention to detail.”

He said: “The collection is full of distinctive designs, intrinsic details and beautiful embellishments our customers love and at great price points, without feeling the need to discount early in the season, we’re offering great value for money.”

Year on year direct sales are also up for women’s loungewear, up 30 per cent, accessories and gifts, up 19 per cent and coats and jackets up 9 per cent, meaning the company will enter into its sale period a healthy 13 per cent up on its budget. In menswear the biggest rise was also seen in knitwear with direct sales increasing by 10 per cent in the first two weeks of December compared to the previous year and its signature men’s shirts were up by 6 per cent..

The continued sales growth comes 6 weeks after Joe Browns launched its first flagship store in Meadowhall, Sheffield, on 2nd November, forming part of the shopping centre’s £60 million regeneration.
